Overview
In the Fling Machine Project, you are to construct a machine, that will fling a ping-pong ball, 10 feet, but since that 10 feet exactly, is a little bit unreasonable, it was switched to 9-11 feet. The machine could be made of just about anything you find, but it must use as least human interaction as possible. This project is a partner project.
How I did
Overall, on this project, I did well. I was partnered with Katherine, and I feel we worked well together. We got an 83/100, which is a B. I am very satisfied with this grade, but I feel I could of done more work for the group. Originally, we had planned to make a trebuchet, (A Fling machine similar to a catapult, but instead of using a lever system, this uses a pulley-counterweight system), but instead we decided to use a classic catapult. Katherine brought in some cardboard from a recycled carpenter book, that we used to make the catapult. The catapult, out of 10 balls, got 3/10. If we could revisit this project, we would of made the catapult more accurate, by putting an object behind the lever arm, to stop it from over shooting. From this project, I learned to better work as a team, and to make ideas at home.
