ESAB Trip
ESAB is a business, that makes stick electrodes, which are used for making strong welds. In February, went to ESAB, and explored one of their factories. We went in, and needed earplugs, because of how loud it was there. We explored the factory as they took us through the process of making the stick electrodes. We then came across the street to their testing facility, and saw the destruction lab, and chemical lab. It was a pretty cool trip, even though it was shortened due to the 2 hour delay.
Main Take-Aways
I thought this trip was pretty cool. I really liked the room where the stick electrodes were tested and destroyed, and I really liked how the factory was across the street from the actual testing facility. This makes it quick and easy to test them, instead of taking days, to even weeks to ship them. This makes the process so much faster, and I really like that.
